Civil Engineering

The foundation of our reputation

Civil Engineering was one of the core services Ralph C. Tyler offered when he founded Ralph C. Tyler, P.E., P.S., Inc. in 1979.  Civil Engineering still remains a dominant service among the wide range of services available at RTC today.

The number and scale of our projects have increased dramatically over the years along with our reputation for quality work.  RTC manages complex projects from feasibility studies through planning, design development, contract documents, construction administration and post-construction service.  Our staff provides comprehensive civil engineering services for the public and private sectors.  We provide site design, building structure design and rehabilitation, wastewater and stormwater management, water treatment, storage and transmission, culverts and retaining wall design, utilities engineering and permit assistance.

We have executed complex civil engineering designs for the following:  the new National Football League Cleveland Browns Stadium complex, $20 million Applied Industrial Technologies World Headquarters project, the $28 million Cleveland Botanical Garden Addition project,  the $5 million ‘fast track’ CHIA Consolidated Rental Car Facilities project, the $45 million New Cleveland Regional FBI Headquarters Building project,  a public utility facility assessment program, public library renovations and additions and major transportation maintenance facility construction.  Our many years of experience with city, county and state building codes, specifications and regulations were essential to the success of these projects.

Over the years, RTC has established impressive track records in both the public and private sectors.  Our ability to understand the needs of our clients and our knowledge of regulations enhance the timeliness and quality of the civil engineering services we offer.
